Hammond EJ643 6x4x3 Type 4 Quarter-Turn Junction Box with Panel

The EJ643 is a 6 x 4 x 3 in Eclipse Junior enclosure with inner panel: a Type 4 mild steel single-door wallmount junction box with a continuous hinge door and quarter turn latches. It is designed to enclose electrical and/or electronic equipment and protect against harsh, industrial environments, for use as an instrument enclosure, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, electrical junction box or terminal wiring enclosure.

The enclosure measures 6.00 in H x 4.00 in W x 3.00 in D (152 x 102 x 76 mm). Body and cover are 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes, and a formed lip on the enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants. 14 gauge welded brackets provide mounting, with a 7.50 in overall height, Ø0.31 in holes on 6.75 x 2.75 in centres, and 3.61 in overall depth.

Unlike the 4" x 4" models, the EJ643 includes a removable 14 gauge galvanized inner panel measuring 4.88 x 2.88 in (124 x 73 mm), left as unpainted galvanized steel and mounted on internal threaded weld studs (10-32 thread). Usable depth is 2.94 in. Grounding and panel mounting hardware are provided, along with a bonding stud on the door and a grounding stud on the enclosure.

The door hangs on 304 stainless steel continuous hinges with 180° opening, seals on a seamless poured-in place gasket, and closes with black zinc diecast quarter turn latches that require a tool. The EJ643 is rated UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 (UL File # E65324) and CSA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 (CSA Cert. # LR21001), and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It is finished inside and out in recoatable ANSI 61 smooth gray powder; the RAL 7035 textured light gray version is EJ643LG. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg).
