Hammond EJ444 4x4x4 Type 4 Quarter-Turn Wallmount Junction Box

The EJ444 is a 4 x 4 x 4 in Eclipse Junior enclosure: a Type 4 mild steel single-door wallmount junction box with a continuous hinge door and quarter turn latches. Compared with the 3 in deep EJ443, it adds an inch of depth in the same 4 x 4 in footprint. It is designed to enclose electrical and/or electronic equipment against harsh, industrial environments, as an instrument enclosure, electric, hydraulic or pneumatic control housing, junction box or terminal wiring enclosure.

The enclosure measures 4.00 in H x 4.00 in W x 4.00 in D (102 x 102 x 102 mm). Body and cover are formed from 16 gauge steel with smooth, continuously welded seams and no knockouts, cutouts or holes; a formed lip on the enclosure excludes flowing liquids and contaminants. 14 gauge welded brackets provide mounting, with a 5.50 in overall height, Ø0.31 in holes on 4.75 x 2.75 in centres, and 4.61 in overall depth.

The door is carried on 304 stainless steel continuous hinges with 180° opening and seals on a seamless poured-in place gasket. Black zinc diecast quarter turn latches use a slot that requires a tool for opening. No inner panel is included at this 4" x 4" size. A bonding stud on the door, grounding stud on the enclosure and grounding hardware are provided.

The EJ444 is rated UL 508A Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 (UL File # E65324) and CSA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 (CSA Cert. # LR21001), and complies with NEMA Type 3R, 4, 12 and 13 and IEC 60529 IP66. It is finished inside and out in recoatable ANSI 61 smooth gray powder; EJ444LG is the RAL 7035 textured light gray equivalent. It ships boxed at 3 lbs (1.36 kg).
