The CHKO666 is a 6 in cube, 6 x 6 x 6 in (152 x 152 x 152 mm), making it the deep option among the 6 x 6 in CHKO sizes. This NEMA Type 1 hinged-door junction box gives extra room behind the door for splices and devices in indoor commercial junction, pull or switch box applications.
The body is formed and spot welded from 16 gauge steel, and the formed steel cover closes with a slotted quarter turn latch. Easily removed knockouts are provided on all 4 sides, through holes in the back allow wall mounting, and a grounding location is embossed in the body. Enclosure and cover are finished in ANSI 61 gray powder coating. Hammond notes that the former butt hinge is being transitioned to a new integral hinge design starting late 2020.
