The 1650PA is a 60 watt (RMS) push-pull hi-fi output transformer designed around two output tubes. Its 6,600 ohm centre-tapped primary is rated at 200 mA DC per side, driving a secondary tapped for 4, 8 or 16 ohm loudspeakers.
For push-pull (2 tubes) operation the suggested tube types are 6L6GC, 807, 5881, EL34, 6146B, 6550B and KT88. The 40% screen taps allow Ultra-Linear operation if desired, and typical applications cover triode, Ultra-Linear pentode, pentode and tetrode connected audio output.
Frequency response per the drawing is 30 Hz to 30 kHz (+/- 1 dB max., ref. 1 kHz) minimum. Typical values measured at 60 Hz include 71.34 ohms (Blue-Red) and 80.42 ohms (Red-Brown) primary DCR, a 230.0 H primary inductance with 106.0 kOhm impedance, and 9.40 mH leakage inductance. Secondary DCR is 0.237, 0.364 and 0.473 ohm. Dielectric strength is 2000 Vrms; temperature range -40 to 105 C.
The 1650PA shares its case with the 1650NA: A 3.13 in (80 mm), B 4.25 in (108 mm), C 3.81 in (97 mm), D 2.50 in (64 mm), E 2.94 in (75 mm), with 0.20 x 0.38 in slots and 8 lbs weight. It is enclosed (shielded) with 4 slot, above chassis Type "X" mounting, plastic coil forms and 8" minimum insulated leads. Made in Canada; RoHS and REACH compliant.
