The 1591XXBBK is the black, flame retardant model of the 1591XXB size, a nominal 114 x 63 x 31 mm enclosure from the 1591XX multi-purpose series. It is designed for mounting a printed circuit board horizontally on integral standoffs and suits OEM engineers and integrators packaging a board up to 108.00 x 57.50 mm.
The textured black body is molded from easy-to-machine flame retardant ABS rated UL94 V-0. Smooth internal sides simplify connector installation, and PC board standoffs are molded into both the lid and the box. PC board mounting bosses inside the box and lid are sized for #4 x 1/4" self-tapping screws, which are not included; PC board screws are available as 1593ATS50 or 1593ATS100.
The lid is secured with M3-0.5 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings, ideal where the enclosure will be opened and closed repeatedly. The assembly includes box, lid, 4 black cover screws and installed brass inserts; the recommended torque is (43-50) ozf.in / (30-35) cN.m. It provides protection against dust and splashing water and is designed to meet IP54.
The drawing gives overall dimensions of 113.82 x 63.32 x 31.00 mm, an inside cavity of 108.15 x 57.65 x 27.00 mm and a 2.00 mm wall. Maximum PCB size is 108.00 x 57.50 mm. The 1591XXBBK is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships shrink wrapped at 0.14 lbs (0.06 kg), and accepts the separately sold 1591FBBK or 1591FBGY mounting flange.
