Hammond 1591EGY 190x111x61 mm Light Gray Flame Retardant ABS Enclosure

The 1591EGY is a light gray flame retardant ABS plastic enclosure from the 1591 multipurpose series, sized 7.5 in x 4.35 in x 2.39 in (191 mm x 110 mm x 61 mm). It is built for electronics designers, OEM engineers and integrators who need a compact project box that holds printed circuit boards vertically on molded card guides.

Card guides are molded into all side walls and accept 1.5 mm (0.062 in) thick boards; the guides are 51.60 mm [2.032 in] high with a 2.06 mm [0.081 in] slot. Inside, the box offers 183.52 mm [7.225 in] of length, 103.53 mm [4.076 in] of width and 56.60 mm [2.228 in] of height. Optional 1591Z card adaptors allow boards to be mounted horizontally instead.

The case is molded from easy-to-machine flame retardant ABS rated UL94 V-0, with lap joint construction that protects against dust and splashing water and is designed to meet IP54. The lid fastens with M3 x 10 mm Phillips machine screws threaded into integral brass bushings, which suits applications needing repeated assembly and disassembly. This light gray version ships with nickel finish screws. Recommended cover screw torque is 35.5-42.5 ozf.in (25-30 cN.m).

Each 1591EGY comes as a box, lid, 6 cover screws and pre-installed brass inserts in shrink wrap, with a shipping weight of 0.52 lbs (0.24 kg). It is RoHS and REACH compliant. A clear flame retardant polycarbonate lid (1591EC) is available separately, and the factory can mill, drill or print enclosures on quotation.
