Hammond 1590Z162GY Gray RAL 7001 Diecast Enclosure, 260x160x90mm

The 1590Z162GY is the smooth gray (RAL 7001) painted version of the 1590Z162 diecast aluminum enclosure, measuring 10.24 in x 6.3 in x 3.53 in (260 mm x 160 mm x 90 mm). The powder paint covers the enclosure inside and out, giving a neutral industrial finish for control, instrumentation and communications equipment that has to stay sealed. The drawing refers to this version as Grey Enclosure - RAL7001 Gloss.

Construction is diecast aluminum alloy with an average wall thickness of 4.40 mm [0.17 in] and a tongue and groove joint sealed by a replaceable one-piece silicone gasket rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F). The gasket is supplied loose inside the box. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws, self-captivating and thread-forming on first installation, fasten the lid; recommended torque is 15-17 lbf.in (150-170 cN.m).

Inside dimensions are 248.83 mm [9.80 in] by 148.95 mm [5.86 in] by 82.30 mm [3.24 in] deep, with a 20 mm (0.79 in) lid depth. An internal mounting shelf accepts the optional 1590Z162PL steel inner panel, with listed maximum P.C. board figures of 147.52 mm and 242.7 mm. Included are the box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers. Wall mounting holes are blind through holes outside the gasket.

The enclosure is cUL and UL listed (file E65324) and has been independently tested to meet IP66, IP67 and IP68 as well as NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, with an impact rating of IK08 per IEC62262. Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, shrink wrapped, and ships at 4.63 lbs (2.10 kg).
