Hammond 1590Z162BK Black 260x160x90mm Diecast Aluminum Enclosure, IP68

The 1590Z162BK is the textured black version of the 1590Z162 thick wall, water-tight diecast aluminum enclosure. It measures 10.24 in x 6.3 in x 3.53 in (260 mm x 160 mm x 90 mm) and is painted inside and out with a tough powder paint in textured black, making it a fit for integrators and OEMs who want a dark finish on equipment exposed to dust, water or washdown.

The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy with a 4.40 mm [0.17 in] average wall. A replaceable one-piece silicone gasket, rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F) and supplied loose, seals the tongue and groove joint. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws secure the lid into tapped holes; they are self-captivating and form their threads on first installation, and the recommended cover screw torque is 15-17 lbf.in (150-170 cN.m).

Internal space is 248.83 mm [9.80 in] long, 148.95 mm [5.86 in] wide and 82.30 mm [3.24 in] deep, with a 20 mm (0.79 in) lid depth. The internal mounting shelf takes the optional 1590Z162PL steel inner panel, and maximum P.C. board figures of 147.52 mm and 242.7 mm are listed. The enclosure includes box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers, and accepts an M6 ground screw. Blind through holes outside the gasket let you wall mount without breaching the seal.

The enclosure is cUL and UL listed (file E65324) and has been independently tested to meet IP66, IP67 and IP68 as well as NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 and 13, with an impact rating of IK08 per IEC62262. Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application. The 1590Z162BK is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships in shrink wrap at 4.63 lbs (2.10 kg).
