Hammond 1590Z160GY 160 mm Square Gray RAL 7001 Diecast Enclosure

The 1590Z160GY is the square 160 x 160 mm 1590Z160 diecast aluminum enclosure finished in smooth gray RAL 7001 powder paint inside and out. It serves integrators and OEMs who need a gray, watertight enclosure for compact square electronics assemblies.

Diecast aluminum alloy box and lid, two piece tongue and groove construction and a replaceable one piece silicone rubber gasket rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F) give it the 1590Z series' sealing approach; the gasket is supplied loose. Four recessed stainless steel lid screws (M6 - 1.0 x 35mm) are self-captivating and form threads on first installation. Recommended cover screw torque is 15-17 lbf.in (150-170 cN.m).

It measures 160 mm (6.30 in) square with a 90 mm (3.54 in) total depth and 20 mm (0.79 in) lid depth. Inside, the drawing shows 149.03 mm length, 149.01 mm width and 81.70 mm depth, with a maximum P.C. board size of 143.69 x 148.46 mm. The internal mounting shelf accepts the 1590Z160PL steel inner panel.

Ratings include IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13 and IK08 per IEC62262. The 1590Z160GY is cUL and UL listed (file #E65324), RoHS and REACH compliant, and ships with the box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers. Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application.
