Hammond 1590Z160BK 160 mm Square Textured Black Diecast Enclosure

The 1590Z160BK is the textured black version of the square 1590Z160 diecast aluminum enclosure, powder painted inside and out. It gives system builders a black, watertight housing with a 160 x 160 mm footprint for electronics deployed outdoors or in wet areas.

Its diecast aluminum alloy box and lid close with two piece tongue and groove construction and a replaceable one piece silicone rubber gasket (rated -40C to +150C / -40F to 302F) that ships loose inside. The lid is secured by four recessed M6 - 1.0 x 35mm stainless steel screws which are self-captivating and thread on first installation; use 15-17 lbf.in (150-170 cN.m).

Overall dimensions are 160 x 160 mm (6.30 x 6.30 in) with a 90 mm (3.54 in) total depth and a 20 mm (0.79 in) lid depth. The drawing shows 149.03 x 149.01 mm inside and 81.70 mm inside depth; the maximum P.C. board size is 143.69 x 148.46 mm. The internal mounting shelf supports the optional 1590Z160PL steel inner panel.

The 1590Z160BK is rated IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13 and IK08 per IEC62262; it is cUL and UL listed (file #E65324), RoHS and REACH compliant. It ships with the box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers, at a shipping weight of 3.31 lbs (1.50 kg). Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application.
