Hammond 1590Z160 160 mm Square Natural Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z160 is a square 160 x 160 mm natural diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1590Z watertight, thick-wall series. Its square format and 90 mm total depth suit designers and installers housing near-square circuit boards, terminals or sensor electronics in outdoor or wet locations.

The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy in two piece tongue and groove construction, sealed by a replaceable one piece silicone rubber gasket rated -40C to +150C (-40F to 302F) that is supplied loose. Four recessed stainless steel lid screws (M6 - 1.0 x 35mm) are self-captivating and form threads on first installation; recommended torque is 15-17 lbf.in (150-170 cN.m).

The ordering table lists 160 mm (6.30 in) x 160 mm (6.30 in) with a 90 mm (3.54 in) total depth and 20 mm (0.79 in) lid depth. Inside, the drawing shows 149.03 mm length, 149.01 mm width and 81.70 mm depth, and the maximum P.C. board size is 148.46 x 143.69 mm. The internal mounting shelf accepts the optional 1590Z160PL steel inner panel.

The 1590Z160 is rated IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13 and IK08 per IEC62262, and is cUL and UL listed (file #E65324), RoHS and REACH compliant. Mounting holes accept M6 machine screws outside the gasket. Included are the box, lid, silicone gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers. Customers should conduct their own testing to determine suitability for any specific application.
