Hammond 1590Z140GY 250 x 80 mm Gray RAL 7001 Diecast Aluminum Enclosure

The 1590Z140GY is a watertight, thick-wall diecast aluminum enclosure finished in smooth gray RAL 7001 powder paint, applied inside and out. It is the gray option in the 250 x 80 mm 1590Z140 size and suits electrical and electronic assemblies that need a neutral, industrial appearance along with a high ingress rating.

The diecast aluminum alloy box and lid use two piece tongue and groove construction with a replaceable one piece silicone rubber gasket (rated -40C to +150C / -40F to 302F), shipped loose inside the enclosure. Four recessed stainless steel machine screws, self-captivating and thread-forming on first installation, secure the lid into tapped holes. The drawing specifies a cover screw torque of 8.9-10.6 lbf.in (100-120 cN.m).

Overall the part measures 250 mm x 80 mm x 57 mm (9.84 x 3.15 x 2.24 in); lid depth is 15 mm (0.59 in). Inside length is 240.75 mm, inside width 70.58 mm and inside depth 50.50 mm, with a maximum P.C. board size of 238.9 x 67.4 mm. An internal mounting shelf supports the optional 1590Z140PL steel inner panel.

The 1590Z140GY carries IP68, NEMA 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12 & 13 and IK08 (IEC62262) ratings and is cUL and UL listed under file #E65324, RoHS and REACH compliant. Blind wall mounting holes sit outside the gasket, and each assembly ships with the box, lid, gasket, 4 cover screws and 4 ground screws with washers.
