Hammond 1590WTRPCBK Black Wide Trapezoid Watertight Diecast Enclosure

The 1590WTRPCBK is the black textured, watertight "Wide Trapezoid" enclosure in the 1590TRP-STP line. Builders of effects pedals and compact instruments use this shape when they need a broad face for several knobs or footswitches, and the silicone gasket with an IP65 rating adds protection when liquids are a concern.

The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy with a black textured finish. Aluminum is rugged yet easy to machine, so openings for jacks and controls can be drilled in-house, or the factory can mill, drill or print the case to order. The draft angle on the side walls is 2° or less for straightforward PC board mounting.

Dimensions from the series table: 3.74 in (95 mm) long, 4.80 in (122 mm) wide at the small end, 5.94 in (151 mm) wide at the large end and 1.54 in (39 mm) deep. The nominal size is 6 in x 3.75 in x 1.5 in (152 mm x 95 mm x 38 mm). The drawing shows an inside width of 89.30 mm [3.516 in] and inside height of 35.00 mm [1.378 in], and the maximum P.C. board is 88.3 mm by 143.32 mm.

Four #6-32 x 1/2" machine screws hold the lid in factory-tapped holes; use 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] of torque with the gasket. The 1590WTRPCBK ships as box, lid, 4 cover screws and gasket, weighs 0.54 lbs (0.24 kg), and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
