Hammond 1590WTRPB Narrow Trapezoid Watertight Diecast Aluminum Box

The 1590WTRPB is the unpainted, watertight member of the 1590TRP-STP family in the "Narrow Trapezoid" shape. It suits pedal builders and electronics designers who want a tapered, distinctive housing, and the silicone gasket and IP65 rating add liquid resistance for projects that face splashes or damp conditions.

The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy in a natural aluminum color. Because the unpainted version is vibra finished, surfaces are smooth with no sharp edges, and the aluminum is tough yet easy to machine for controls and connectors. A side wall draft angle of 2° or less makes it easier to mount a PC board.

Nominal size is 4.37 in x 3.13 in x 1.5 in (111 mm x 80 mm x 38 mm). The ordering table lists a length of 4.41 in (112 mm), a small-end width of 2.44 in (62 mm), a large-end width of 3.11 in (79 mm) and a depth of 1.54 in (39 mm). Inside, the drawing gives 106.29 mm [4.184 in] of length and 35.20 mm [1.386 in] of height. Maximum P.C. board dimensions are listed as 71.66 mm (length) and 105.29 mm (width).

The lid is secured by four #6-32 x 1/2" machine screws into factory-tapped holes; with the gasket installed, torque them to 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in]. The 1590WTRPB ships with box, lid, 4 cover screws and the silicone gasket, weighs 0.37 lbs (0.17 kg), and is RoHS and REACH compliant.
