The 1590WN1BK is a compact watertight diecast aluminum enclosure in textured black, sized 4.77 x 2.58 x 1.57 in (121 x 66 x 40 mm). It is the plain-sided liquid resistant version of the 1590N1 box, with no mounting flanges, and suits engineers and integrators housing small circuit boards that need IP65 protection in a tidy black case.
The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine, and this part has textured black polyester powder paint for a lasting finish, even after machining, with black screws included. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet helps keep out dust and splashing water, and the low side wall draft angle (2° or less) makes P.C. board mounting easier.
Because this version has no flanges, it presents a clean, flat-sided profile for bench equipment, hand-held assemblies or boxes that will be mounted by other means.
A silicone gasket is supplied with this liquid resistant enclosure, loose inside the box rather than pre-installed. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws (4X 6-32 UNC threads); recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing).
