The 1590WN1F is a watertight 1590N1-size diecast aluminum enclosure fitted with a flanged bottom plate for surface mounting. It measures 4.77 x 2.58 x 1.57 in (121 x 66 x 40 mm) nominal, has a natural aluminum finish and is designed to meet IP65, making it a practical housing for OEM engineers and installers mounting small electronics to a wall or chassis.
The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine, and this part has an unpainted natural aluminum surface that is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet helps keep out dust and splashing water, and the low side wall draft angle (2° or less) makes P.C. board mounting easier.
The bottom flange is welded to the box and extends the overall length to 146.05 mm (5.750 in), so the enclosure can be fixed in place while the lid stays free for access.
A silicone gasket is supplied with this liquid resistant enclosure, loose inside the box rather than pre-installed. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws (4X 6-32 UNC threads); recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in], or 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in] with the gasket. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, and the enclosure can be factory modified (milling, drilling, printing).
