The 1590WN is the water-tight version of the 1590N diecast aluminum enclosure, supplied in natural unpainted aluminum. It suits electronics designers, instrument builders and field-equipment OEMs who need a compact metal housing designed to meet IP65, with internal ribs to locate a printed circuit board.
Box and lid are die-cast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The unpainted finish is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction guards against dust and splashing water, and the included silicone gasket is supplied loose inside the enclosure rather than pre-installed, so you can machine the box before sealing it.
Nominal size is 121 x 66 x 40 mm (4.76 x 2.60 x 1.57 in), with the 4 mm lid included. Inside, the drawing gives 113.71 mm [4.477 in] length, 57.81 mm [2.276 in] width and 35.20 mm [1.386 in] height. The internal guides take a P.C. board up to 112.24 mm by 56.34 mm, and the side wall draft angle is 2 degrees or less.
The assembly includes box, lid, gasket and 4 cover screws (M3.5x0.6) threaded into factory-tapped holes. With the gasket fitted, the recommended screw torque is 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in]. Liquid resistant stainless steel cover screws with O-ring (1550WMS100) and the 1590NGASKET replacement kit are listed accessories. The 1590WN is RoHS and REACH compliant and weighs 0.37 lbs (0.17 kg).
