The 1590RGASKET is a two-pack of pre-formed silicone gaskets for the 1590R size of the 1590-RIBBED diecast aluminum enclosure family. It lets engineers and builders upgrade a standard IP54 1590R enclosure toward IP65 sealing, or replace a gasket on a water-tight unit.
Each kit includes two pre-formed silicone gaskets with adhesive backing for easy installation. The gasket is applied to the lid. Because it is installed separately, the enclosure can be machined and/or painted first and gasketed later, which keeps sealing surfaces clean during drilling, cutting or finishing work.
The series ordering table lists the 1590RGASKET as the optional replacement gasket kit for the 1590R (natural), 1590RF (flanged bottom plate) and 1590RBK (black) enclosures, which share a nominal size of 192 x 102 x 61 mm (7.56 x 4.02 x 2.40 in). On water-tight 1590 enclosures a gasket is already included, so this kit is mainly for upgrading a standard IP54 enclosure or for replacement.
With a properly installed gasket and lid screws torqued to 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in), the enclosure is designed to meet IP65. The 1590RGASKET is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships in a bag and has a shipping weight of 0.02 lbs (0.01 kg).
