The 1590MBK is the black painted version of the 1590M diecast aluminum enclosure, aimed at builders of pedals, instruments and OEM electronics who want a finished, dark exterior on a mid-size metal box. Internal ribs provide board guides, and the low side wall draft angle of 2 degrees or less makes P.C. board mounting straightforward.
The box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine, finished in satin black polyester powder paint that holds up even after machining. Black screws are included to enhance appearance. The purchased assembly includes box, lid and 4 cover screws (M3.5x0.6) threaded into factory-tapped holes, with a recommended torque of 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is rated IP54.
