The 1590G2F is the 100 mm x 50 mm x 31 mm (3.94 in x 1.97 in x 1.22 in) 1590G2 diecast aluminum box fitted with a flanged bottom plate. It is intended for builders and installers who need a small, taller metal enclosure that can be screwed firmly to a wall, panel or equipment chassis.
The drawing notes that the bottom flange is welded. With the flange, overall length is 124.46 mm [4.900 in] and overall height is 32.50 mm [1.280 in]; mounting holes are 3.96 mm [.156 in] in diameter on 113.18 mm [4.456 in] centres. Inside, there is 94.92 mm [3.737 in] of length, 44.92 mm [1.768 in] of width and 27.00 mm [1.063 in] of height, with P.C. boards up to 93.82 x 43.82 mm.
Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy and easy to machine. The natural finish is unpainted and vibra finished, leaving a smooth surface with no sharp edges. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, giving an IP54 design rating, and a side wall draft of 2° or less eases board installation.
Each 1590G2F is shrink wrapped with box, lid and four 6-32 UNC cover screws; recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. The water-tight version is 1590WG2F, and the 1590GGASKET kit provides an IP65 upgrade. RoHS and REACH compliant, 0.26 lbs (0.12 kg).
