Hammond 1590G2CB Cobalt Blue 100x50x31mm Diecast Stomp Box Enclosure

The 1590G2CB is a painted diecast aluminum stomp box enclosure finished in a deep cobalt blue powder coat matched to RAL 5013. At 100 x 50 x 31 mm (3.94 x 1.97 x 1.22 in) it is the compact rectangular body of the Hammond 1590-STOMP range, sized for guitar pedal builders, DIY effects experimenters and small OEM instrument runs that want a factory-coloured case ready to drill.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, a tough material that is still easy to machine. The smooth glossy polyester powder coat gives a lasting finish, even after machining, and accepts labels or silk screening easily. The purchased assembly includes the box, lid and 4 cover screws that thread into 6-32 UNC holes; recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in), or 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with a gasket.

Per the drawing, the box measures 100.00 x 50.00 x 31.00 mm outside, with an inside length of 94.92 mm, inside width of 44.92 mm and inside height of 27.00 mm. The listed maximum P.C. board dimensions are 43.82 mm and 93.82 mm, and a low side wall draft angle of 2° or less makes mounting a board inside straightforward. Shipping weight is 0.25 lbs (0.11 kg).

Lap joint construction protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. To reach IP65, add the optional 1590GGASKET gasket kit together with water-tight screws. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant, ships in shrink wrap, and solid models are available in STEP or IGES.
