Hammond 1590FFLBK 7.4 in Square Black Diecast Enclosure, Flanged Lid

The 1590FFLBK is the textured black, flanged-lid version of the 1590F diecast aluminum enclosure, the largest footprint in this part of the 1590 range at 7.4 in x 7.4 in x 2.64 in (188 mm x 188 mm x 67 mm). It suits OEM engineers, panel builders and integrators who need a square, rugged instrument housing that can be fixed straight to a wall or panel through its lid flange.

Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, a material that is tough yet easy to machine for connectors, switches and cable entries. The black version is coated with a tough textured polyester powder paint that keeps a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are supplied to match. Lap joint construction where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard version is designed to meet IP54.

Per the manufacturer drawing the lid flange brings overall length to 217.00 mm [8.543 in], with lid mounting holes on 203.00 mm [7.992 in] centres. Inside, the box offers 61.51 mm [2.422 in] of height and 178.50 mm [7.027 in] of width, and the maximum P.C. board size is 174.91 mm x 174.91 mm. Side walls have a low draft angle of 2° or less for easier board mounting.

The purchased assembly includes box, lid and eight 6-32 UNC cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes; recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. For IP65 protection choose the water-tight 1590WFFLBK, or add the 1590FGASKET kit and torque the lid screws to 25-30 cN.m [36-43 ozf.in]. The part is RoHS and REACH compliant and ships shrink wrapped at 1.97 lbs (0.89 kg).
