The 1590CE is a diecast aluminum electronic instrument enclosure with a nominal size of 120 x 100 x 65 mm (4.74 x 3.95 x 2.54 in) and no mounting flanges. It is a deeper, wider box than many small diecast cases, giving designers room for stacked PC boards, terminal blocks or taller components.
Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The natural version is unpainted and vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges. A lap joint where lid and box meet protects against access of dust and splashing water, and the standard version is designed to meet IP54.

Unlike the 6-32 hardware used on many 1590 sizes, the 1590CE uses four M3.5 x 0.6 cover screws, included with the box and lid. Recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in), or 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) with a gasket. Replacement screws come as M3.5 x 12mm packs (1550MS100, or o-ring stainless 1550WMS100). Upgrade to IP65 with the 1590CEGASKET kit or order the water-tight 1590WCE. Shipping weight is 0.66 lbs (0.30 kg); RoHS and REACH compliant.
