Hammond 1590BXFBK 254x70x50mm Black Diecast Box, Flanged Base

The 1590BXFBK is a long, narrow diecast aluminum enclosure in a textured black finish with a flanged bottom plate, so the box can be fastened directly to a panel, wall or chassis. At a nominal 254 x 70 x 50 mm (10 x 2.76 x 1.95 in), it suits OEM engineers and integrators housing elongated circuit boards, sensor electronics or instrument assemblies that need a rugged metal case.

Box and lid are made from diecast aluminum alloy, which is tough yet easy to machine. The black version is coated with a tough polyester powder paint for a lasting finish even after machining, and black screws are included to match. A lap joint where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the standard version is designed to meet IP54.

The assembly ships with the box, lid and six 6-32 UNC cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes. Hammond recommends 50-55 cN.m (71-78 ozf.in) of lid screw torque, or 25-30 cN.m (36-43 ozf.in) when a gasket is fitted.
