The 1590BX is a long, narrow diecast aluminum enclosure from the 1590 Series, in natural finish with no mounting flanges. At 10 x 2.76 x 1.95 in (254 x 70 x 50 mm) per the part page, it suits electronics designers and OEM engineers housing elongated circuit boards within a compact cross-section.
Box and lid are diecast aluminum alloy, tough yet easy to machine. The unpainted version is vibra finished for a smooth surface with no sharp edges.
The drawing gives outside dimensions of 254.00 x 70.00 x 49.50 mm [10.000 x 2.756 x 1.949 in] and inside dimensions of 247.68 x 63.68 x 44.70 mm [9.751 x 2.507 x 1.760 in]. Side walls have a draft angle of 2 degrees or less for easy PC board mounting, and the part data lists maximum P.C. board figures of 61.68 mm and 245.68 mm. Because of its length, the 1590BX lid is held by six 6-32 UNC cover screws threaded into factory-tapped holes, rather than the four used on most 1590 sizes; recommended torque is 50-55 cN.m [71-78 ozf.in]. A lap joint where lid and box meet protects against dust and splashing water, and the enclosure is designed to meet IP54. For IP65, the water-tight version is 1590WBX and the matching gasket kit is 1590BXGASKET.
Shipping weight is 0.9 lbs (0.41 kg), shrink wrapped. RoHS and REACH compliant; STEP and IGES models available.
