The 1589T8G1BKRF is a horizontal 1U rackmount power distribution unit for 19-inch racks and cabinets, built to distribute 20A single-phase branch power to IT, networking, AV, telecom, test and industrial equipment. All eight NEMA 5-20R receptacles face the front of the unit, so power connections sit where front-cabled equipment plugs in, and the heavy-duty receptacles accept both NEMA 5-15P and 5-20P equipment plugs.

Power comes in through an attached 15 ft 12/3 SJT cord terminated in a NEMA 5-20P straight-blade plug, giving reach to floor boxes, wall receptacles or overhead raceway without an extension. The unit is rated 20A, 125VAC (listed as 120VAC on the part data) at 60 Hz, and includes a resettable circuit breaker to help protect against accidental electrical overload. Instead of an on/off switch, this version uses an illuminated power indicator (pilot light) for clear visual confirmation that the strip is energized; the switched equivalent is offered as 1589H8G1BKRF.
