Hammond 1589T8D1BKRR 1U 8-Outlet 20A Rear-Facing Rack PDU

The Hammond 1589T8D1BKRR is a 1U horizontal rackmount power distribution unit for 19-inch racks and cabinets, built to distribute 20A single-phase power to IT, networking, AV, telecom, test and industrial equipment. All eight NEMA 5-20R outlets face the rear of the unit, which suits installations where equipment power cords terminate at the back of the rack and cabling needs to stay clear of the front panel.

Outlets are heavy-duty NEMA 5-20R receptacles rated 20A, 125VAC and accept both NEMA 5-15P and 5-20P equipment plugs. Power is supplied through an included 15 ft 12/3 SJT cord fitted with a NEMA L5-20P locking plug for a secure branch-circuit connection. A resettable circuit breaker helps protect against accidental electrical overload, and a pilot light provides visual indication of operating status; this T-suffix model uses a power indicator light rather than an on/off switch (the switched equivalent is 1589H8D1BKRR).

The chassis measures 1.72 in (44 mm) high, 19.00 in (483 mm) wide and 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with front and back panels in black painted steel. The series uses a textured RAL9005 black powder coat finish that meets applicable GREENGUARD indoor air quality and RoHS requirements.
