Hammond 1589H70F1 70-Inch 20A Vertical PDU with 10 Outlets

The 1589H70F1 is a 70-inch vertical basic PDU (power distribution outlet strip) rated 20A at 120VAC single-phase, built for IT, AV and electrical professionals powering equipment in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks. The drawing shows ten 20A/125V NEMA 5-20R receptacles distributed along the strip, fed by an integral 6 ft power cord terminated in a NEMA 5-20P straight blade plug.

Construction is a low-profile anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic end caps, giving a rugged but light weight assembly. Receptacles are 1" square and equally spaced over the length of the strip, with heavy-duty black receptacles rated for 20A, 125VAC service (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot). Power control is handled by an on/off rocker switch, and a resettable 20 amp circuit breaker provides overcurrent protection. The cord is heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT with an integral molded plug, suited to extreme temperature ranges, and the unit operates from -20 C to +60 C.

The strip measures 70.00 in (1778 mm) nominal, with an overall assembly length of 1789.89 mm [70.468 in] and an extrusion length of 1783.08 mm [70.200 in] per the drawing. Shipping weight is 6 lbs (2.72 kg) and the finish is natural (anodized aluminum).

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; additional hardware kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Per the series notes, outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets because they and the equipment plugs interfere with mounted equipment and accessories " allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting to the struts. The 1589H70F1 is UL Listed to UL1363 and CSA certified, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
