Hammond 1589H18G1 18" 6-Outlet 20A Vertical Power Strip

The 1589H18G1 is an 18-inch vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 20A at 120VAC with six NEMA 5-20R receptacles. It is intended for IT, AV and electrical professionals powering equipment in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, and it can also be mounted horizontally above a work bench. All six outlets are on the front face; there are no rear outlets, no metering and no surge protection, keeping the unit a straightforward basic power distribution strip.

Construction is a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic end caps, so the strip stays rugged but light. The receptacles are heavy-duty black units rated 20A, 125VAC (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot), are 1 inch square, and are equally spaced over the length of the strip. An on/off rocker power switch and a resettable 20 amp circuit breaker are built in. Colour is natural (black finish available upon request from the manufacturer).

Nominal strip length is 18.00 in (457 mm); the drawing shows an overall assembly length of 456.39 mm [17.968 in] and a 449.58 mm [17.700 in] dimension in the front section view, with an end profile of 29.18 mm [1.149 in]. Shipping weight is 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg). Power is supplied by an integral 15 ft heavy-duty 12/3 SJT cord with a moulded NEMA 5-20P straight blade plug, suitable for extreme temperature ranges; operating temperature is -20 C to +60 C.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with the strip; additional kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories — allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails when mounting vertically to the struts. 1589H18G1 is UL Listed to UL1363 and CSA certified, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
