Hammond 1589H18C1 18" 6-Outlet Vertical PDU, 20A L5-20P

The 1589H18C1 is an 18 in. vertical basic PDU (outlet strip) with six NEMA 5-20R receptacles, rated 20 A at 120 VAC. It is intended for IT, AV and electrical installers who need straightforward rack or cabinet power distribution without metering or switching per outlet. Power comes from an integral 6 ft cord terminated in a NEMA L5-20P locking plug, and an on/off rocker switch plus a reseatable 20 A circuit breaker are built into the strip.

Construction is a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic end caps, giving a rugged but light weight assembly in a natural finish. The heavy-duty black receptacles are rated 20 A, 125 VAC (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot), are 1 in. square and are equally spaced over the length of the strip. The supply cord is heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT with an integral molded plug, and the unit is rated for operating temperatures from -20 C to +60 C.

The strip length is 18.00 in (457 mm), with an overall assembly length of 456.49 mm [17.972 in] per the drawing, and shipping weight is 3.5 lbs (1.59 kg). All six outlets face the front; there are no rear outlets and no surge protection or metering.

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with 1589H18C1, and additional kits can be ordered as P/N 1585CLIP. The strip can be mounted vertically in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or horizontally above a work bench. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, and sufficient depth must be allowed behind the rear rails for vertical mounting. The product is UL/cUL Listed, TAA-compliant, RoHS and REACH compliant, and manufactured in North America.
