Hammond 1589H24C1 24-Inch Vertical PDU, 8 Outlets, 20A Switched

The 1589H24C1 is a 24 in (610 mm) vertical basic power distribution unit with eight NEMA 5-20R outlets, rated 20 A at 120 VAC single-phase. It is intended for IT, AV and electrical professionals who need straightforward, non-metered power distribution inside server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or mounted horizontally above a work bench.

Construction is a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic end caps, keeping the strip rugged but light. The receptacles are 1 in square, heavy-duty black, rated 20 A / 125 VAC (NEMA 5-20R single T-slot), and are equally spaced over the length of the strip. All eight outlets face the front; there are no rear-facing outlets and no rotated outlets. An on/off rocker switch and a resettable 20 amp circuit breaker are built in.

Power is supplied by a 6 ft heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT cord with an integral molded NEMA L5-20P locking plug, suited to extreme temperature ranges, with an operating range of -20 C to +60 C. The drawing lists an overall assembly length of 608.79 mm (23.968 in). The unit ships in a natural finish and weighs 3.5 lbs (1.59 kg).

A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with the strip; additional hardware kits are available as P/N 1585CLIP. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as they and the equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting. 1589H24C1 is UL/cUL Listed to UL1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
