Hammond 1589H18F1 18-Inch 6-Outlet 20A Vertical Power Strip

The 1589H18F1 is an 18 in (457 mm) vertical basic PDU (power distribution outlet strip) rated 20 A at 120 VAC, with six NEMA 5-20R receptacles. It is aimed at IT and AV integrators, electricians, OEM engineers and facilities teams who need compact, code-listed power distribution inside a server cabinet, wall mount cabinet or open frame rack, or mounted horizontally above a work bench.

Construction is a low-profile, slim anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic end caps, giving a rugged yet lightweight assembly in a natural finish. The heavy-duty black receptacles are rated 20 A, 125 VAC (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot), are 1 in square and are equally spaced over the length of the strip, all six facing the front. An on/off rocker power switch and a resettable 20 A circuit breaker are fitted at the cord end. Power is supplied by an integral 6 ft cord with a molded NEMA 5-20P straight blade plug and heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT wire suited to extreme temperature ranges; the operating temperature range is -20 °C to +60 °C. This part is unmetered and has no surge protection or shielded cord.

Drawing dimensions for 1589H18F1 show a 456.39 mm (17.968 in) side view length, 449.58 mm (17.700 in) front dimension over the outlets and a 29.18 mm (1.149 in) end profile. A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; order P/N 1585CLIP for an additional hardware kit. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as they and the equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories — allow sufficient depth behind the rear rails for vertical mounting to the struts.

The strip is UL Listed to UL1363 and cUL/CSA listed (UL file E166039), RoHS and REACH compliant, USMCA and TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
