Hammond 1589H18D1 18-Inch 6-Outlet 20A Vertical PDU, L5-20P Plug

The 1589H18D1 is an 18 in. vertical basic PDU (power outlet strip) rated 20A at 120VAC single-phase, built for IT, AV and electrical professionals who need reliable branch-circuit distribution inside a cabinet or on an open frame rack. It carries six NEMA 5-20R receptacles on the front face, an on/off rocker switch and a reseatable 20 Amp circuit breaker, and terminates in a 15 ft locking NEMA L5-20P power cord.

Construction is a low-profile anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic end caps, giving a rugged but light weight assembly that tucks out of the way. The heavy-duty black receptacles are 1 in. square, equally spaced over the length of the strip, and rated for 20A, 125VAC service (NEMA 5-20R, single T-slot). The supply cord is heavy duty 12 gauge 12/3 SJT wire with an integral molded plug, suited to extreme temperature ranges, and the unit operates from -20 degrees C to +60 degrees C.

Nominal strip length is 18.00 in (457 mm), with an overall assembly length of 456.49 mm [17.972 in] and an end profile of 29.18 mm [1.149 in]. Shipping weight is 4 lbs (1.81 kg) and the finish is natural (black finish available upon request). A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included; additional kits can be ordered as P/N 1585CLIP.

1589H18D1 mounts vertically in server cabinets, wall mount cabinets and open frame racks, or horizontally above a work bench. Note that outlet strips cannot be used between the front and rear panel rails of rack cabinets, as the strip and equipment plugs will interfere with mounted equipment and accessories; allow sufficient depth behind the rear panel rails for vertical mounting to the struts. The unit is UL/cUL Listed to UL1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
