Hammond 1585T8B1S 48-Inch 8-Outlet Vertical Surge PDU, 15 ft Cord

The 1585T8B1S is a vertical basic PDU with surge protection, built for data cabinets, wall mount cabinets, open frame racks and bench-top power distribution. It provides eight NEMA 5-15R outlets on the front face, rated 125VAC, 60 Hz, 15 amps single-phase, and terminates in a 15 ft cord with an integral molded NEMA 5-15P straight blade plug.

The case is an anodized aluminum extrusion with ABS plastic ends, giving a low-profile slim design in a rugged, light weight package with a Natural finish. Receptacles are 1 in square and are equally spaced over the length of the strip. This version uses a power indicator (pilot) light rather than an on/off switch, and includes a resettable 15 amp circuit breaker; the switched equivalent in the same configuration is 1585H8B1S.

Surge protection is rated at 1080 joules maximum energy, with 25000 amp rated MOVs for a total of 75,000 amps of single pulse transient current, a Voltage Protection Rating (Vpr) of 500V in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a Nominal Discharge Current (In) of 5kA. Suppression happens at the outlet, guarding against transients from equipment connected to the strip. A green indicator light confirms the surge module is active; when the module reaches the end of its useful life, internal protection disconnects it and extinguishes the light while power to the load is maintained, now unprotected.

The strip is 48.00 in (1219 mm) long nominal, with an overall assembly length of 1231.19 mm [48.472 in] on the drawing, and ships at 5 lbs (2.27 kg). A mounting bracket kit with hardware is included with the 1585T8B1S; order P/N 1585CLIP for an additional hardware kit. The unit is cULus Listed to UL 1449 and C22.2 No. 269.3-17 (Type 3 SPD) and to UL 1363 and C22.2 No. 308-18, RoHS and REACH compliant, TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA, and manufactured in North America.
