The 1583T8A1BK is a 1U, 19-inch rack mount basic PDU that distributes single-phase 125 VAC power to eight rear-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets. It is built for IT and AV integrators, electricians, OEM engineers and facilities teams who need straightforward, hard-wearing power distribution behind servers, switches, amplifiers and control gear in a standard equipment rack.
This version uses a red power indicator (pilot) light rather than an illuminated on/off rocker switch, so connected loads stay live and there is no switch to be knocked accidentally. A resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker is built in to guard against accidental overload. Power is supplied by a heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges, 6 ft long with an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight blade plug. The cord on this model is unshielded, and the unit is not surge protected, metered, or fitted with rotated outlets.
Construction is painted steel front and back, finished in black. Overall dimensions are 1.72 in (44 mm) high by 19.00 in (483 mm) wide by 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, occupying a single rack unit in a 19-inch rack, cabinet or relay rack. Shipping weight is 3.5 lbs (1.59 kg).
