Hammond 1583T8A1 1U 8-Outlet Rack PDU, 15A Gray Power Strip

The 1583T8A1 is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount outlet strip (basic PDU) that distributes single-phase 125 VAC power to equipment mounted in a rack or cabinet. All eight NEMA 5-15R receptacles face the rear of the unit, so cabling stays behind the equipment, making it a practical choice for IT, AV, broadcast and industrial racks where a clean front appearance matters.

Construction is painted steel finished front and back in ASA 61 gray, a powder coat that complies with the Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. Power is supplied by a heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges with an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug, 6 ft long. A 15 Amp, 125 VAC resettable circuit breaker helps prevent accidental overload, and a red power indicator light shows when the strip is energised (this version has no on/off rocker switch).

Overall dimensions are 19.000 in (482.60 mm) wide by 1.718 in (43.64 mm) high by 2.661 in (67.58 mm) deep, with a shipping weight of 3.5 lbs (1.59 kg). The unit installs horizontally in a standard 19-inch rack, occupying 1U.
