The 1583H8B1BKV is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount basic PDU (power bar) rated 125 VAC, 60 Hz, 15 Amps, built for IT, AV, broadcast and industrial cabinets where equipment is powered from the rear of the rack. All eight NEMA 5-15R outlets face the rear (0 front, 8 rear), and the unit ships with a 15 ft shielded cord terminated in an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug.
The shielded cord is the distinguishing feature of this version: 100% aluminum mylar foil coverage with a 20 gauge drain wire, which reduces EMI/RFI and "dirty" power from utilities. The cord is heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT type for extreme temperature ranges. A lighted on/off rocker power switch and a resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker are built into the front face to guard against accidental overload. This part is not surge protected, not metered, not hospital grade, and does not use rotated outlets.
Construction is painted steel front and back, finished in textured black (RAL9005 powder coat), which complies with Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality.
