Hammond 1583H8B1 1U 8-Outlet 15A Rack PDU, 15 ft Cord, Gray

The 1583H8B1 is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount basic PDU (outlet strip) rated 15A single-phase, with eight NEMA 5-15R outlets on the rear of the unit and no front outlets. It is intended for IT, AV, broadcast and OEM installations where equipment cords are dressed at the back of the rack and a simple, switched power strip is all that is required. The finish is ASA61 gray painted steel, front and back.

Power comes in through a heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges, with an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug. The cord on this version is 15 ft long and is not shielded. A lighted on/off rocker switch controls the strip, and a resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker guards against accidental overload. This model is not surge protected, not metered, and does not use rotated outlets.

Overall dimensions are 1.72 in (44 mm) high by 19.00 in (483 mm) wide by 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with the drawing showing 1.718 in (43.64 mm) height, 19.000 in (482.60 mm) width and 2.661 in (67.58 mm) depth. Shipping weight is 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg). The 19-inch panel occupies a single rack unit in a standard EIA 19-inch rack or cabinet.

The powder coat finish complies with Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality, and the unit is RoHS, REACH and USMCA compliant, manufactured in North America.
