Hammond 1583H8A1SBK 1U 15A Surge-Protected PDU, 8 Rear 5-15R Outlets

The 1583H8A1SBK is a 1U horizontal 19 in rack mount basic PDU with eight rear-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets, rated 15 A at 125 VAC, 60 Hz (listed as 120 VAC rated voltage on the part data). It is designed for power distribution from the rear of the unit, making it a practical choice for IT, AV and OEM racks where equipment cords terminate behind the rack. A lighted on/off rocker power switch, a resettable circuit breaker and a surge indicator light are all located on the front panel for easy access.

Construction is painted steel, black front and back, finished in RAL9005 black powder coat that complies with the Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. This version of the 1583 series includes the surge module: 1080 J maximum energy, 25000 Amp-rated MOVs for 75,000 Amps of single pulse transient current, a 500 V Voltage Protection Rating in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a 5 kA Nominal Discharge Current. A green indicator confirms the module is active; at the end of its useful life internal protection disconnects the module and extinguishes the light while maintaining power to the load, now unprotected.
