The 1583H6B1S is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount basic PDU with six rear-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets, rated 15 A at 125 VAC, 60 Hz. It is built for IT, AV and industrial installations that need clean power distribution from the rear of a rack or cabinet, where equipment cords plug in behind the gear rather than across the front.
The chassis measures 19.000 in (482.60 mm) wide, 1.718 in (43.64 mm) high and 2.661 in (67.58 mm) deep, and is finished front and back in ASA 61 grey painted steel. Shipping weight is 4.5 lbs (2.04 kg). All six outlets are on the rear; there are no front outlets and the outlets are not rotated. A lighted on/off rocker switch and resettable 15 A, 125 VAC circuit breaker are on the front panel, along with a surge indicator light.
1583H6B1S includes an integral 15 ft, heavy-duty 14/3 SJT cord with moulded NEMA 5-15P straight blade plug, rated for extreme temperature ranges. The cord is unshielded and the unit is not metered.
Surge protection is built in: 1080 J maximum energy, 25000 A-rated MOVs for 75,000 amps of single pulse transient current, a 500 V Voltage Protection Rating in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a 5 kA nominal discharge current. The green indicator confirms the surge module is active; at the end of the module's useful life internal protection disconnects it and extinguishes the light while maintaining power to the load, now unprotected.
The unit is cURus recognized to UL 1449 and C22.2 No. 269.3-17, with UL file E166039, and the series is UL/cUL recognized to UL 1363 and CSA C22.2 No. 308-14 and No. 0.4-04.
