The 1583H6B1BKAM is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount basic PDU from the Hammond 1583 Series, built for distributing single-phase 125 VAC power inside racks and cabinets. It carries six NEMA 5-15R outlets, all facing the rear of the unit, so cords dress away from the front of the rack. An LED ammeter lets technicians read load current at a glance, making this version well suited to IT, AV and broadcast racks where circuit loading needs to be monitored.
Power control and protection are built in: an illuminated on/off rocker switch, a resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker to prevent accidental overload, and a heavy-duty 14/3 SJT type 14 gauge cord with an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug rated for extreme temperature ranges. The digital ammeter uses a 0.37 in high red LED display (1.38 in x 0.88 in) with accuracy of +/- 0.1 Amps. This unit is not surge protected and does not use a shielded cord; outlets are not rotated.
