Hammond 1583H6B1 1U 6-Outlet 15A Gray Rack PDU, 15 ft Cord

The 1583H6B1 is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount outlet strip (basic PDU) that distributes single-phase 125 V power to equipment mounted in a rack or cabinet. All six NEMA 5-15R outlets face the rear of the unit, so cords stay behind the equipment and out of the working aisle — a layout favoured by IT, AV and broadcast integrators, control panel builders and facilities teams who want power at the back of the rack.

Power is fed by a heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT cord with an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug, supplied at 15 ft for reaching a wall or floor receptacle away from the rack. A lighted on/off rocker switch controls the strip, and a resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker guards against accidental overload. This version of the 1583 Series has no surge module, no ammeter, no shielded cord and no rotated outlets.

Construction is steel with an ASA 61 gray powder coat front and back, a finish that complies with the Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. Overall dimensions are 19.000 in (482.60 mm) wide by 1.718 in (43.64 mm) high by 2.661 in (67.58 mm) deep, and the unit ships at 4.25 lbs (1.93 kg).

The strip mounts directly to standard 19-inch rack rails in one rack unit of panel space. 1583H6B1 is rated 125 VAC, 60 Hz, 15 Amps, is CSA Certified to C22.2 (No. 21-95, 42-99) and UL Recognized to Standard UL1363 under UL file E166039, and is RoHS, REACH and USMCA compliant as well as TAA-compliant for federal GSA schedule purchases within the USA.
