Hammond 1583H6A1S 1U Surge-Protected PDU, 6 Rear 5-15R Outlets

The 1583H6A1S is a 1U horizontal 19-inch rack mount basic PDU that distributes single-phase 120 VAC power from the rear of the unit. With six rear-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets, a 15 A rating and built-in surge protection, it suits IT, AV and OEM installations where equipment cords land at the back of the rack and cable routing needs to stay clean at the front.

Construction is painted steel finished in ASA 61 grey on both the front and back panels. The front panel carries an illuminated on/off rocker power switch, a resettable circuit breaker rated 15 Amp, 125 VAC to guard against accidental overload, and a surge indicator light that confirms the surge module is active. Power is supplied by an integral 6 ft heavy-duty 14/3 SJT cord with a moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug.

The surge module of the 1583H6A1S provides 1080 Joules of maximum energy, a 500 V Voltage Protection Rating in all three modes, 75,000 Amps of single-pulse transient current capability and a 5 kA nominal discharge current; internal protection disconnects the module at the end of its useful life while maintaining unprotected power to the load.
