Hammond 1582T8D1 1U 8-Outlet 15A Rack PDU, L5-15P Locking Cord

The 1582T8D1 is a 1U horizontal rack mount basic PDU from the Hammond 1582 Series, built for 19-inch rack and cabinet installation where power has to be distributed from the front of the unit. It carries eight NEMA 5-15R outlets on the front face and none on the rear, making it a straightforward choice for IT, AV, broadcast and OEM equipment racks that need accessible receptacles at the rack face.

Power comes in through a 15 ft NEMA L5-15P locking power cord, so the supply connection cannot be pulled loose accidentally. The cord is heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT type for extreme temperature ranges with an integral moulded plug. A resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker is built in to guard against accidental overload, and this version uses a red illuminated power indicator light rather than an on/off rocker switch. This part is not surge protected, not locally metered, not hospital grade, and does not use rotated outlets or a shielded cord.
