Hammond 1582T6A1SBK 1U Surge-Protected PDU, 6 Front 5-15R Outlets

The 1582T6A1SBK is a 1U horizontal 19" rack mount basic PDU from the Hammond 1582 series, built for power distribution from the front of the unit. It carries six front-facing NEMA 5-15R outlets (six front, zero rear), a 15 A rated current, and an integral surge protection module, making it a practical choice for IT, AV and communications racks where equipment plugs in at the front of the cabinet.

This version uses a red power indicator light rather than a rocker switch (the "T" designation), plus a resettable circuit breaker rated 15 Amp, 125 VAC to guard against accidental overload. A surge indicator light confirms the surge module is active; internal protection disconnects the module at the end of its useful life and extinguishes the light while maintaining power to the load, now unprotected. Series surge specifications include 1080 J maximum energy, 25000 Amp-rated MOVs for 75,000 Amps of single pulse transient current, a Voltage Protection Rating of 500 V in L-N, L-G and N-G modes, and a 5 kA nominal discharge current.

Power comes in through a heavy-duty 14/3 SJT cord, 6 ft long, with an integral moulded straight-blade NEMA 5-15P plug. The 1582T6A1SBK measures 1.72 in (44 mm) high, 19.00 in (483 mm) wide and 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with 17.500 in between mounting slots and four 0.250 in x 0.375 in slots for rack rail mounting. Shipping weight is 3.7 lbs (1.68 kg).
