Hammond 1582H8A1SBK 1U Surge-Protected PDU, 8 Front 5-15R Outlets

The 1582H8A1SBK is a 1U horizontal 19" rack mount basic PDU rated 125 VAC, 60 Hz, 15 Amps, built to distribute single-phase power from the front of the rack. Eight NEMA 5-15R receptacles face forward (no rear outlets), making it a practical choice for IT, AV and OEM installations where patch-panel-level access to power is needed at the front of the cabinet or open frame.

Power enters through an integral moulded NEMA 5-15P straight-blade plug on a 6 ft heavy-duty 14 gauge, 14/3 SJT cord rated for extreme temperature ranges. A lighted on/off rocker switch controls the strip, and a resettable 15 Amp, 125 VAC circuit breaker guards against accidental overload. This version is surge protected: the internal module provides 1080 Joules of maximum energy, 25000 Amp-rated MOVs for 75,000 Amps of single-pulse transient current, a 500V Voltage Protection Rating in all three modes (L-N, L-G, N-G) and a 5kA nominal discharge current. A green indicator light confirms the surge module is active; at the end of the module's useful life, internal protection disconnects it and extinguishes the light while power to the load is maintained, now unprotected.

Overall dimensions are 1.72 in (44 mm) high by 19.00 in (483 mm) wide by 2.66 in (68 mm) deep, with front and back panels in black painted steel finished in RAL9005 black powder coat that complies with Greenguard guidelines for indoor air quality. Shipping weight is 3.6 lbs (1.63 kg).
