Hammond 1555VBGY 240x160x120mm ABS Watertight Enclosure, IP66

The 1555VBGY is a deep, general purpose ABS enclosure measuring 240 x 160 x 120 mm (9.45 x 6.30 x 4.72 in), finished in light gray RAL 7035. It gives indoor projects the extra height needed for taller DIN rail components or PC board assemblies while keeping a watertight, gasketed lid.

Tongue and groove lid construction seals on a replaceable, one piece high temperature silicone gasket that ships loose inside the enclosure. The lid is secured by six M4 stainless steel machine screws threaded into corrosion resistant inserts; the screws are self captivating, and the drawing recommends a cover screw torque of 43-57 ozf-in (30-40 cN-m).

Inside, the 1555VBGY provides 230.24 x 146.24 mm with 110.80 mm of height. DIN rail tabs, threaded M3 brass inserts, standoffs for #6 self tapping screws and vertical card guides for 1.5 mm P.C. boards are molded in, and the maximum P.C. board size is 145.5 x 226.82 mm. The 1554VAPL steel inner panel fits in the box or lid and is ordered separately.

ABS versions are tested to IP66, carry an IK07 impact rating and a UL94-HB flammability rating, and are recommended for indoor use from -20°C to +60°C; they are not UL listed. Wall-mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel and accept the 1554FT foot kit. If you need UL 508A listing or outdoor use, specify 1555VB2GY.
