Hammond 1555RGY 160x160x61mm Watertight ABS Enclosure

The 1555RGY is a square, light gray (RAL 7035) watertight enclosure molded from general purpose ABS. It measures 160 x 160 x 61 mm (6.30 x 6.30 x 2.40 in) and is aimed at OEM engineers and panel builders who need a compact, sealed housing for printed circuit boards or DIN rail mounted components in indoor installations.

The lid seals with a two-piece tongue and groove joint and a replaceable one-piece silicone gasket, made from high temperature UL listed silicone and supplied loose inside the box. Four included M4 stainless steel machine screws thread into corrosion resistant inserts; the screws are self captivating, and the manufacturer's drawing recommends a cover screw torque of 43-57 ozf-in (30-40 cN-m). The ABS version is tested to and meets IP66, carries an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and a UL94 HB flame rating, and is recommended for -20°C to +60°C.

Inside, the drawing gives 152.91 x 148.91 mm length and width with 51.50 mm of height. Threaded M3 brass inserts and standoffs for #6 self tapping screws take a board up to 147.4 x 150.95 mm or the optional 1554RPL steel inner panel, which fits in the box or the lid. Molded DIN rail tabs and vertical card guides for 1.5 mm boards add further layout options.

Four 4.00 mm wall-mounting holes sit outside the gasket channel, and the same holes accept the 1554FT foot kit. Note that ABS is not UL listed; if you need a cUL / UL 508A listed, UV stabilized box of the same size, the polycarbonate twin is 1555R2GY.
