The 1555RF17GY is the low-profile general purpose ABS enclosure in the R size of the 1555F Series. It provides a watertight, wall-mountable 160 mm square housing for indoor electronics, P.C. boards and DIN rail components where a UL listing is not required.
The series ordering table lists this part at 6.30 x 6.30 x 1.50 in (160 x 160 x 38 mm) not including flanges, and the drawing shows a 37.70 mm [1.48 in] assembled height. Note that the part page size field reads 6.3 x 6.3 x 2.46 in (160 x 160 x 62 mm). The drawing also gives 200.00 mm [7.87 in] overall length with flanges, 178.00 mm [7.01 in] flange hole spacing, 17.44 mm [.69 in] inner box depth and 12.50 mm [.49 in] inner lid depth. Maximum board size is 148 x 149 mm.
The part page lists ABS plastic, light gray color, IP66 and UL94 HB. ABS versions are for indoor use, are not UL listed, carry an IK07 impact rating per IEC 62262:2021 and have a recommended operating range of -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).
The lid features a smooth recessed area for a membrane keypad or label and seals with a two-piece tongue and groove joint and a one-piece silicone gasket supplied loose. M4 stainless steel screws behind the lid thread into corrosion resistant inserts (recommended torque 2.5 lbf-in / 30 cN-m). The 1555RF17GY accepts the 1555RFPL steel inner panel and ships shrink wrapped at 0.31 lbs (0.14 kg).
