The 1555JF42GY is the deep, general purpose ABS enclosure in the 1555JF size, offering 62 mm of height for indoor electronics that need more room than the shallow version. Electricians and OEM engineers use it for wall-mounted control boards, DIN rail devices and wiring that must be sealed against dust and water.
It is molded from general purpose ABS with a UL94 HB rating and IK07 impact resistance. ABS versions are not UL listed but have been tested to and meet IP66, and are specified for indoor use at -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F).

The lid uses tongue and groove construction with a loose-supplied one-piece silicone gasket and four M4 stainless steel screws into corrosion resistant inserts; recommended torque is 2.5 lbf-in. Inside the 1555JF42GY are DIN rail tabs in the lid, molded standoffs for 1555TS100 self-tapping screws and mounting for the 1555JFPL galvanized steel panel. For outdoor or UL 508A applications, choose the polycarbonate 1555J2F42GY.
